though very slightly without cramps and clots. My concern is this that can i become pregnant again even using pull out method or top position or even by anal sex?? and is it okay to continue sex while i am bleeding?? also when can expect bleeding to stop as i had took Trenaxa 5oomg for this...i didnt visited doctor after my abortion nor went for any sort of tests...so how should i confirm that abortion process is successful??

Answer
Hi thanks for the question. It sounds like you have been bleeding awhile although it does vary from person to person and if there are no clots or pain it is unlikely you have an infection.

You can definately become pregnant even when bleeding, they advise usually to wait till the bleeding stops before having sex as the bleeding means the cervix is still open and you could get an infection. Also women are very fertile after a medical abortion, this is the reason so many end up back for a second one not long after the first. It is quite common.

I would say anal sex is fine ( but use condoms anyway ) I would go to the doctor for a checkup if you are still bleeding in a couple of days. Sometimes the cause of long bleeding after an abortion is that they have left some tissue inside. This is easily checked with an ultrasound and easily fixed with a D&C.

I am not sure if you are asking me how you should know if the abortion worked but really the chances are it did as you are bleeding. I would ask do you still have any pregnancy symptoms? It is not advisable to do a pregnancy test (urine) as this can stay positive for up to 8 weeks after an abortion or pregnancy loss.

My main advice would definately be to seek after care just to avoid complications and to put your mind at rest. Maybe dont have sex until you know what is going on.

Best of luck to you, take care and feel free to ask another question if I dont make much sense or you want to clarify something. Take care, vanessa
