I am considering purchasing  basalt rocks.  I have neevr used them, what can you tell me about them?  how do you heat them , etc etc.

Thanks for your inquiry, Chris.

Basalt rocks, typically the ones I'm familiar with, are collected from the banks of the Colorado River and are known as basalt-lava stones because of their retention qualities.  When I work with them, usually I heat them in a turkey roaster with water heated to 135 degrees fahrenheit ideally.
