QuestionGlenn,
I am considering purchasing basalt rocks. I have never used them, what can you tell me about them? how do you heat them , etc etc.
Thanks for your time,
Chris
AnswerGreat tool for massage.
-The heat dilates blood vessels really locally. The weight, and the rigidity of the stone, allow driving of blood out of the tissue temporarily. Those three add to a GREAT prolonged increase in blood flow to local tight muscles.
-I heat them in a crock pot, 200-300 degrees F. If they're hot to touch, keep the stone moving. Once they cool, place them on the chakra points (along the spine). Mmmmm.
-For further training, check videos like LA Stone. They're prolific these days with the stone massage craze.
Cheers,
Glenn
