Troubleshooting Gel Nail Lifting: A Nail Tech's Guide

Question
Hi im a nail tech and am having a problem with one of my coworkers.  She wants to wear gel nails but every time i put them on her they pop off, literally.  I dont have this problem wih any of my clients and use a high quality brand(LCN)of gel.  What could be the problem i know that some people do better with acrylic nails if they have naturally oily nail beds.  Hopefully, you can help me out on this one.   thanks

Answer
Hi Magz,

If you have truly ruled out 'force' as an issue (there's no damage to the nail plate after they've popped off), and ruled out lack of appropriate nail care (is she wearing gloves when housekeeping, using cuticle oil 2-4 times daily) and any other possibilities, then yes; it's possible that uv gel is not appropriate for her.
You can try priming the nail first with an acid primer, then using your bonder and proceed as usual.
Doubly-dehydrate each nail immediately prior to applying the gel.
If none of these things work, then yes, it's "possible" that she may do better with L&P acrylic HOWEVER no guarantee.
Have you contacted LCN regarding this issue? If not, I urge you to do so.

Hope this helps
Best regards
