Gel Nail Lifting: Causes, Prevention & What to Do
QuestionI have ben getting bio seeweed gel nails from a reputable salon for 3 years now with no problems.....I recently was cleaning some dirt out from the corner of my thumbnail with a toothpick and guess I was too over zealous in cleaning it because the nail has lifted in the corner from the nail bed...there is a white mark in the corner of my thumbnail...it has been like this for almost a month now it may have gotten slightly larger but has not lifted to the middle of the nail...I have kept the gels on and am putting teatree oil under my nail-will this help as I really would hate to take the gels of? How long does it take for a new nail to grow out? Will it reattach when the new nail grows if I still have gels on and how long will this take? There is no infection and I keep them clean....Dianne
AnswerHi,
No worries you did a little damage to your natural nail it will not effect the gels but I would keep it a bit shorter in case you bump it or break it. Because it already has lifting it is more susceptible to damage.I think you will be fine.
it takes a good 6 months for a nail to grow all the way out!
