OPI Clarit'e Monomer Yellowing Issue: Troubleshooting & Alternatives

Question
Hi, I am using OPI Clarit'e monomer and powder and although the packaging says "non yellowing", my nails are always yellow. I don't tan and I don't spend much time in the sun and I don't smoke.  I am frustrated,I like the liquid because it is odor free so would like to keep using it. I don't know what is causing the yellowing.  Any suggestions?  Is there a better product that is also no or low odor? Thank you, Dani

Answer
High quality products from a line like OPI should never yellow, even with exposure to the sun and/or smoking.  The yellowing is coming from either your product or your brush being contaminated.  How do you store your brush? Do you clean your monomer bowl and use fresh every time you do nails?  These are all factors. Check with the seller you purchased it from and check the expiration dates.
Your brush should be stored on its side, in a dust free cabinet.

I also want to warn you a bit: odor free liquid and powder products have a higher risk of causing sensitivity in yours and your clients skin from the top level of the l&p not fully curing, so uncured product is consistently touching the skin- a big no no!
If you are looking for a line you don't want to smell, start looking into a line of gels with no toulene or gluteraldehyde.  Brisa Gels by CND are extremely light, odor free, and easy to work with.
Good luck Dani! And thank you for your question!
