Preventing Nail Polish Chipping with Frequent Hand Washing

Question
I am currently an assistant (shampoo girl) in a hair salon and my hands are always in water. Every time I polish my nails the polish is almost completely chipped or peeled off by the middle of the next day. I like to try to keep polish on my nails because it helps prevent hair color from staining them. I know I should but I can't wear gloves when I am shampooing clients so I would like to know if there is something that I could do or something I could purchase that would help my polish last longer than half a day. Right now I am polishing my nails almost every night with Orly Bonder base coat, 2 coats of OPI polish and Orly Won't Chip top coat. Also do you have any suggestions how to remove hair color stains from my nails. They are brown and look really dirty. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
Jenny

Answer
Dear Jennifer,

The solution for your problem is called Gel Polish. Gel is a non porous layer on your nails and works the same as nail polish but is cured by using UV light. No substance can penetrate this layer and you will need to file off the layer if you wish to remove or change the colors. IBD has a soak off gel polish which is a bit easier to remove. Make sure the Gel Polish is from a respected brand such as IBD, EzFlow or ESN and your nail tech knows what she is doing.

Good luck and let me know if you need more info.
