my s
fingera are almost healed now, should i try a hypoallergenic gel and see what happens?
thank you for any suggestions. Lori
ANSWER: Lori,
Well your doctor is right! Since you have a reaction to Gels you should definitely not wear them. I think you should try acrylics. They may have a bad rep.. but if you have a good manicurist you can get them really thin and natural. And you don't have to wear tips or have them long! You can put acrylic right over your natural nail and all one color. It can look and feel just like a Gel if done properly! Ask your Manicurist for a thin acrylic overlay. I think you will be happy with that and hopefully it does not cause any irritation.
If you cannot wear any product on your hands... You might try taking Biotin. Its a natural herbal supplement and it promotes hair and nail growth. It is amazing, I take it and notice huge results. If you take Biotin everyday and keep a clear nail strengthener on everyday..I promise you will have long thick pretty nails and it does not matter how much you wash them in water.

QUESTION: are you sure i would not reactto the a acrylics the same way?? arethey not similar chemicals? Lori
ANSWER: Lori,
The chemicals are completely different. However, no I am not sure how you will react. Everybody is different. A good idea might be to try it just on your pinky nail..wear it for a week and see how you do. if it starts bothering you, you can always remove it.
Other wise, like I said before try Biotin and go natural! :)
Good luck,
Megan

QUESTION: how much Biotin do you take? and what is the best nail; strengthener to use?? thank you so much! Lori
AnswerDepending on how many MG you buy.. I think I take 500 MG a day.. but it comes in alot of differet amounts so whatever bottle you buy just read the directions.
Nail strenthner try OPI nail envy, or nail Tech. Those are only found at beauty supply stores. But if you must go to Target then try Sally Hanson nail hardner.
Whatever you do, be sure to layer on the polish everyday! You will love your nails in about 3 weeks
