UV Gel Nails with Tips: Process & Time - A Beginner's Guide

Question
i have just completed a day course in gel nails & tips using a resin & file/buffer to file the nails. I have also practised on clients and its taking me 2hrs sometimes 2hr 3mins. how long does it normally take to do uv gels and what is the procedure? because the method I was tought involves alot of buffing which takes most of my time.

Answer
Hi,
You should be start to finish 45 min at the most! The procedure is simple.. You rough up the nail with a file... Apply tips and glue.. cut the tips off to desired length. Apply the boner and let it cure on both hands for 3 min.. apply the first coat of gel let it cure under the lamp and so forth. Finially when your complete and you have removed the tacky residue with alcohol.... they should look almost perfect!  You should have very little filing  or buffing to do!! Buff out all 10 nails so they loook perfect and this should take about  5 min at most. HAve the client wash there ands and apply the finial top coat of gel to cure for 3 min and they are finished.

If this is not the case you need to take another class and keep practicing. Beacuse Gels should not be taking any time to file or buff. It you put it on corrrectly there is little to no work involved.
