Gel Nail Issues: Rebalancing vs. Filling & Repairing Breaks

Hi,
I don't usually get my nails done, but several days ago I got a set of gel nails put in.. Now I read several pages of questions on the site, but what am I supposed to do when I go in to fix my nails up? You said that rebalancing the nails is better than filling them in. If I request the salon to rebalance the nails, will they understand? Or is there a certain way to request it. Also, I have unfortunately broken half the tip off my pointer finger. Do I just need to get it done all over again?

If your tech doesn't understand what a rebalance is, there is no point in asking for one ;)

If you were a client of mine, I would simply file the broken nail enhancement, and then sculpt a tip back on to match the rest.
