Gel Nail Lifting & Peeling: Causes & What to Do

Question
Hi, im just about to get my acrylics taken off and get gel nails put on after. In the meantime though i lost two acrylic nails so went to the salon to get them fixed, they instead put gel over those two so it would be easier next week when i make my transition but i got those done two days ago and both the nails with gel have lifted and just peeled off, just like that!! why is this happening and should i go through with my removal of acrylic for gel nails??? my nails are also very weak and with the gel my nails still bent uncomfortably.

Answer
Hi Kelly
If you are tough on your nails, then it may benefit you to stay with the acrylics. Are they using a soak-off gel polish on you? Or is it a hard gel? There is a definite difference between the two. Soak-offs are soft but traditional gels are much stiffer and will not bend. As to whether or not you should switch, if you are really hard on your nails, then no. Stick with the acrylics.
Hope this helps Kelly :)
