Base Coat for Nail Polish: Does It Really Matter?

I painted my nails and used a base coat but it didn't seem to do what its suppose to. My nail polish didn't dry and peeled off. When I paint my nails without using a base coat its fine. Should I try a different base coat or keep painting my nails without using a base coat?

Hi Kristin,

A base coat really only helps protect the nail from staining. If you feel that your polish stays on fine without a base coat go for it! If you feeel that it gives you more strength then choose a new base coat.
I like the ones that have as little chemicals as possible.
Spa Ritual is a good line to try.
