QuestionCan acrylic powder be applied to natural nail? I mean without gluing on fake acrylics. I naturally have long and strong nails so I'm just curious if its possible to apply like pink and white powder to my real nails?
AnswerSince you say, "without gluing on fake acrylics" -- do you mean without using tips? The pre-shaped plastic nails that many salons use to extend the nail before applying the acrylic? Tips and acrylic are totally separate products and really have nothing to do with each other. Tips are just a way of extending the nail.
You can absolutely do an overlay on your natural nails with acrylic without extending them first. You can also overlay with gels, wraps or any other product.
Acrylic powder doesn't really work all by itself. You have to use something to bind it to the nail. Typically, we use monomer (the liquid) to create a chemical reaction that creates a moldable material -- acrylic. Once that chemical reaction is initiated, then you have a product that you can create a nail with.
There's also a dipping technique where nail glue is used to coat the nail and then dipped into acrylic powder while the glue is still wet.
But powder won't stick to your nail all by itself.
