Am I allergic to some of the ingredients or is it an infection due to unsterile instruments? Should I have my own set of file, buffer, brush, etc to prevent this?

Yes, it sounds like you are allergic to acrylates, the main ingredient in the product you are wearing. I am beginning to see more and more new customers that have been overexposed to acrylic. It has nothing to do with sanitation, but everything to do with proper application. I would suggest that you let your acrylics grow out and slowly away wearing nails. I am so sorry that this has happened to you, as I know how much I enjoy wearing nails myself. The only allergy free product that I have found is something called T.E.N. Nails. They are based in Texas, but have several technicians around the US that use their product.
