Using Regular Polish with UV Gel for Nail Art: A Guide

Question
hi i bought some uv gels for my nails and i was wondering if i could use regular nail polish to do my nail art and after i can seal it with clear uv gel and cure it.is that possible?also how can i do nail art with uv gel french manicure already cured?thanks in advance

Answer
You can't really put the gel over polish. You can try waiting until the polish is 100% dry, but usually this means the gel doesn't stick to the slick surface of the polish and will peel off. Putting gel over wet polish prevents the polish from drying when trapped under the gel and causes the gel to slide off-- usually in a big mess from the un-cured polish. Try using gel polish, which is gel that has pigment added to it. It's designed to be cured with the UV light. Otherwise, just do your gels, then polish over them and use regular top coat.
