Nail Sensitivity Troubleshooting: Identifying the Cause & Solutions

Question
I have a sensitivity problem. I thought it was just primer used in applications of acrylic or gel nails. We tested primers on another area of skin at the salon, and I reacted. So we started using what they called a "laquor system." That worked, but the stuff was very expensive so they wanted to switch me to gel nails. We tried a different kind of primer and I reacted. Then we experimented by using the nail glue that goes with the laquer system instead of primer, and I reacted. My technicians were careful to follow recommendations for avoiding sensitivity, and no chemical touched the skin around my nails. The week long process of reaction is itching, burning, damage to surrounding skin, redness, swelling, and peeling, even creating open wounds. I can't have artificial nails anymore if I can't find a solution for "priming" the nail before a gel application. Any ideas?

Answer
Hi,

Ok so, there is no primer for gel nails!I have to ask were do you go to get your nails done? A gel nail is always in a gel consistency even before it is applied. If the tech mixes a powder and a liquid, or if it has an odor,or if it yellows after time,it is not a gel. Gel nails for the most part are very safe and mild. I have never had anyone react to gel, even my clients who were allergic to acrylic.
I would say contact a few gel companies directly find out who in your area uses the product and have a sample nail done.try this company.
