QuestionIs it true that the light used for gel nails will demage the natural nail? and what do you recomend the best for my nails, gel, back fill or silk or somethig that you think is better.
thanks in advance for your assistant.
AnswerNO, this is NOT true. Light from a UV lamp is far far far less uv rays than if you stand at a window in direct sunlight for 2minutes. It will NOT damage your natural nail or anything of the sort. There is absolutely NO danger from a UV lamp. The output is so minimal, there's no point even considering it. UV Gel (in my opinion and that of many other technicians) is the best of the nail enhancements as it's non-porous so then it's less prone to lifting, if ever. When nails 'lift', and a'backfill' (another term for refill when nails have grown out a bit) is necessary, the more lift that exists, the more filing is required to remove the lift. Less filing is better as that means less trauma to the natural nail.
I personally prefer UV Gel. REAL uv gel. Be careful. There are many discount salons 'claiming' to use uv gel, but it's only standard acrylic in a pot labelled 'gel'.
With real UV Gel, there is absolutely NO POWDER used at all. It is the same viscosity of hair gel. As the name implies, it is a GEL and not a liquid and powder.
