QuestionI purchased a sterling silver cross (stamped 925) from JC Penney's last year for Christmas. A year later, it is turning black and will NOT come clean. I've tried Tarn-X, silver cleaner, club soda, etc., but nothing works. Do you think that this piece of jewelry really isn't sterling and they just said it was? I contacted the store and they won't take it back.
AnswerYou need to grow up and realise that there is a big wide world out there outside of America.....and maybe get a grip on reality at the same time!
Just because I am unaware of what JC Penny sells, doenst make me inexpert.
Open your eyes and read the answer that I sent you intially. The answer is there, as it is a simple and common problem.

Sorry for the delay, iut's been crazy busy here in the lead up to Xmas..........
There is no reason a all for them to pretend that something is 925 when it isn't.
Assuming that JC Penny is a large concern - I've never heard of them - it just isnt worth taht much and I cant see that they would risk reputation by selling fakes.
Try some silvo or ask a jeweller to re-polish it.
Obviously it has reacted with your skin and - I'm guessing - your perfume!
