QuestionAbout 10 years ago i bought a secondhand ring. It is has quite a few markings on it and i was wondering if i could find out more about it from these markings.
It has 18CT & PLAT, which i believe is pretty straight forward, but also stamped on it is Reg No 882431 F446.
It is quite an unusual heart design and i believe the stone set in the top must be a diamond with it being made from 18ct and platinum.
Is it possible to find out where this ring is registered?
Thank you for your help
Regards
Lisa
AnswerG'day Lisa and many thanks for your query
There is no central register for jewelry because anyone from anywhere in the world may have made it.
The 18ct & PLAT would suggest Europe but the reg number may simply be a manufacture model or design number - useful for the company in the event of renewal or general design identification.
As you didn't mention where you live or where you purchased the item - it could be anywhere?
I understand this doesn't help much - but that by itself should simply make you enjoy it for what it is.
