Cost of Prong Settings for .005 Diamonds in Portland, OR

What is the current price range for setting .oo5 diamonds in a prong set that looks like pave? I like a little hole under the stone and prongs - this is for a re-mount - I am in the Portland Oregon area - ball park figure will do - 14k yellow gold - 8 stones - - TIA

Carolyn, the minimum we would charge is about $12 per stone. Some of this depends on the setting and if pre-made for the stones, how well the stones fit the setting.

When set in actual pave, without ready made prongs, the charge is higher reflecting more intense labor and skill required to do the work.

All in all, some could be a lot more and some slightly less in price. So much depends on the setting and how difficult or easy the job turns out to be.

Quality of stone setting varies with the skill and ethics of the jeweler doing the work. We do professional level work which in most cases outshines factory work. Some jewelers are unfortunately a bit slipshod and take less care.  You might want to ask to see work the jewelers have done to get an idea what to expect.
