Changing a Diamond Ring Setting: Cost & Difficulty

Question

example - not exact
My grandmother has willed to me a very beautiful multi diamond ring my grandfather gave to her. The problem is it is in a yellow gold setting and I much prefer white gold. How difficult/expensive is it to change the setting?
The attached picture is similar, but not exact - the side stones are separate diamonds, not rectangular as shown (and of course it is yellow gold).
I'd appreciate your feedback! Thanks!

Answer
The least expensive way is to have the ring rhodium finished. Since the white gold made these days always has a tinge of yellow to it, it needs to be rhodium finnished anyway and is usualy done before you buy it. This is what I would do. The rhodium will wear out eventualy but it will wear out just as fast on a white gold ring.
When it wears out on a white gold ring it is still noticeable just not as much.
Check with your local jeweler on the cost of this service.

Thanks for writting !!!

Good Luck
