Clam Pearls: Rarity, Value & Appraisal - Gemological Experts

I found a clam pearl last night. Researching this online has brought about more confusion. Is it truly rare, and where should I go to get an accurate appraisal? What determines their worth?

Clap pearls are very rare. The same criterior for grading oyster pearls applies. Shape, Luster, Orient, Blemishes, Spots ect..
I'm happy to do an appraisal if you can get the pearl to me by shipping or bring it in to the office personally.
