QuestionHi:
My grandmother left me a pearl/diamond ring after she passed away. I would like to have the pearl re-set and replace one of the small diamonds that fell off, however, I question whether or not the ring is worth repairng. I cannot seem to find any markings on the inside of the ring, suggesting that it might be white gold--the only stamp on the inside of the ring is a JA--do you happen to know what JA might stand for?
AnswerHi Annette, This is not my area , but I felt that I should offer my 10 cents worth. If it belong to your grand mother fix it , you will only have one ( actually two ) of them and no shes gone ,I think that is a beautiful thing to do. The marks , no idea it could be the makers mark or the likes,or jewellery association ? If they are real diamonds , then its gold , as you wouldnt put a cheap metal with a diamond . So I guess you should check to see if the diamonds are real . If so ...have it done , best regards Rod Keady
