How to Polish Turquoise Stones for a Brilliant Shine

I have recently bought a silver turquoise ring and the stone has no shine. Is it possible and how to you polish turquoise stones inorder to get them to shine.

Hi Barry,

It is done with diamond or cerium oxide.  You would need a machine to run a lap on then you would need a diamond polishing lap or a cerium oxide lap.  You can get special plastic film with these compounds impregnated.  The cost of doing this would be prohibitive for you however.  It would be cheaper to hire someone like myself or buy a new stone.  Unless you plan on doing this type of work on a regular basis then the investment would be okay.
