QuestionI found a ring in a wealthy neighborhood. It says 925 MEDA on one side and the otherside , it says China. It looks like gold and diamonds. Is this cheap , fake, jewelry?
AnswerKaren, thanks for the question.
I believe the ring is sterling silver, making that call from the 925 which is the standard numerical stamp for sterling silver. Fake? No. Inexpensive? Likely.
The only way to know if the stones are diamonds is to have a jeweler take a look. There is an outside chance if the stones are CZ that CZ is stamped inside the ring band. Some of the rings imported from China with CZ stones will have that indicated inside the band. Otherwise, have a jeweler take a quick look.
The MEDA must be a makers mark and has nothing to do with the quality of the metal or gemstones. There you go and I hope this helped answer your concerns.
