Calla Cut Diamond Engagement Rings: Find Your Perfect Match
QuestionMy fiance and myself have been looking for an engagement ring for several months and I have always said that I only wanted one engagement ring in my life (eg. trading up). I looked so many places and at so many rings and never found anything I LOVED until I was in a jewelry store and i was speaking to the sales person as I did in many stores and he was trying to get to know me to see if he could identify something about me that would help in the process. When I told him how my favorite flower was a calla lily and that I love the butterfly and what it symbolizes to me when he showed me a calla cut diamond ring in his store. (this ring is on www.callacut.com and the style #is R21-040047 which is under the rings section of the site) I fell in love to say the least it was like it was made for me. What I want to know is this a wise investment? The reason I ask is because i know it is a new cut and I am not able to get a color or clarity on the ring it is priced at $2900 for just that ring not including the wedding band. And even though I don't ever plan on "trading up", is it a good idea to buy a ring that is cut and set in four different pieces? Please any advise at all would be great.
AnswerHI FAWN,
I CAN REALLY APPRECIATE YOUR DILLEMA, BUT LETS DISECT THE REASONING. YOU SAY "IT WAS LIKE IT WAS MADE FOR ME". NOW WHY WOULD YOU QUESTION SOMETHING THAT WAS "MADE FOR ME"? ESPECIALLY IN THE 'IS IT A WISE INVESTMENT?" CONTEXT. IS A DIOR DRESS OR GUCCI BAG THAT IS CUSTOM MADE AND WILL NO LAST FOREVER BE A GOOD INVESTMENT? SOME THINGS TRANSCEND DOLLARS AN CENTS AND ARE WHAT THEY ARE. A MASTERPIECE OF BEAUTY COMMEMORATING A TERRIFIC TIME IN YOUR LIVES. THIS SOUNDS LIKE 'YOUR RING' AND A WISE INVESTMENT. GO WITH YOUR HEART NOT YOUR POCKETBOOK. YOU ARE NOT INVESTING IN DIAMONDS DON'T WORRY ABOUT THE 'INVESTMENT'. HAVE A WONDERFUL LIFE.
