Identifying a Vintage 14K Gold Fish Ring - Possible Origin & Value

Question
My mother has a gold ring from my grandmother.  It is in the form of a fish -- looks similar to a Koi, with ruby eyes.  The fish wraps around the finger to where the tail and the head meet on the top of the finger.  I believe the inside says 14K gold.  The inside is not solid, but "hollow".  The fish is very detailed, with scales and ribbing on the tail and fins.  It's mouth is open.  Have you ever seen one of these and would you know where I can learn more about it?  My grandparents are deceased and my mother knows nothing about the ring.  Thanks.

Answer
Yes I have seen that style ring. The snake ring that wraps around the finger is also ver popular. That style has been around for a long time. It might be a reproduction of an antique or a modern piece There are many of them.
Have it appraised!!
