1855-1925 Locket History: Origins & Significance

Hi, I have a locket that so far have found out it was made in the late 1800 early 1900 I am a history buff and would like to find out how and when this item was made. it has 5 pictures from pairs in it and everything is in tact. I have pictures of it. from what I can tell it was from the Paris exposition fair but can't tell when. all words are not in English other than the work Paris. can you please help me understand how this item came to be and the history be hind it?

Hello Tammy and thank you for your inquiry. Your locket sounds like a souvenir item from the Paris exposition.The exhibition lasted from 15 April until 12 November 1900. You might be able to find a book at your local library on the exposition or a book on collectibles of world fairs and expositions at amazon.com

There are quite a few sites online hosting collectors of items from the expositions and you might find some information there. Just use your search browser to look for paris exposition souvenirs, locket, etc. You may even be able to have the wording translated if you can make it out - there are several translation sites online.
