Sapphire vs. Topaz: Identifying Your Ring's Gemstone

Topaz or Sapphire ring
Hi, I bought this ring second hand and it was sold as a sapphire surrounded by small diamonds but to me (a complete novice) it looks more like a topaz? Love it either way but just curious I know tests would have to be done to be 100 sure but in your opinion would you say its more likely to be either? Also can a local Jeweler do a gem test to find out? Or would I have to see a professional gemologist?

I believe I answered this already. According to the color in the picture it could go either way. It does look some what like a topaz.
Find a gemologist at one of your local jewelers. Have them do a refractive index test.
