Vintage 14ct Elgin Ladies' Pocket Watch - Appraisal & Sale
QuestionI own a 14ct Elgin pocket watch. When I was given it I was told it was a 'lady's model. It is in perfect working order but unfortunately , years ago, when my son was little, he broke the hinge on the front cover. I want to sell it but know nothing about watches really so would not be able to come up with the correct description for an Internet ad. Nor would I have any idea of a value. My preference would be to sell it to an antique dealer or auctioneer. I am told Elgin watches are more sought after in the USA [I live in Ireland] and as I will be in Orlando at the end of the month, I wonder if you could point me in the direction of a store that may be interested. Any input appreciated. Regards. Mary
AnswerHello Mary and thank you for your inquiry. I'm not a watch collector but can refer you to an antique shop in Winter Park, Florida - just north of Orlando. The proprietor is Hardy Hudson and the Antiques on the Avenue shop is located on Park Avenue in Winter Park. Here is their website and you might want to contact them in advance. Just copy and paste the url into your browser address field and hit enter. Tell Mr. Hudson that Sally J in WV said hello.....
