Identifying & Valuing a St. Christopher Medal (1974)

Question
I found a St' Christopher medal inside an item I purchased from an estate sale. It has an inscription on the back and is dated 4- 11- 74. It is also stamped, M. DE JEAN sterling. I was searching the net for a little insight when I happened across you guys.  I was wondering if you had any idea what the markings mean or if the medal was of any value.  Any info you have to offer will be of great help. Thank you for your time and expertise. Sincerely, Vicki

Answer
Hello Vicki and thank you for your inquiry. The medal you have was made by M. DeJean Mfg. Co. probably on the date indicated. I have listed a website below that can tell you about the various St. Christopher medals and their meanings.  Just copy and paste it into your browser address field and hit enter:

Many of these are sterling and depending on their size and ornamentation usually sell for $10 - $25. Hope this helps !
