Identifying Antique Watch Fobs: A Request for Assistance
QuestionMy grandfather's watch was given to him in 1887 for his 21st birthday. The fob has a red cross with an H at the top of the cross an F on one arm and a Con the other. It also has what appears to be a running deer below the crosspiece. Hoping y might be able to shed some light on this. Thanks,Bill
AnswerHello Bill and thank you for your inquiry. I'm afraid I can't help you much as watch fobs are not my specialty. Yours sounds very nice and could be a hunting fob. I have listed a site below that has some information and also a forum where you might list your description among other fob collectors. Just click on the link or copy and paste it into your browser address field and hit enter:

There are also some very nice collectors books out on watch fobs. You might check with amazon.com or your local library for a copy. Hope this helps and enjoy your fob !
