QuestionI have a wedding ring that was passed down from my husbands aunt. I took it to my Jeweler and he was very confused from the inscription that is on the inside. He wanted to know more,,, and now I do. On the inside it says 14 K OPAL Heart Lock,,,, Now here's the so you would think its common sense right,,, it has to be opal. It is not an opal ring It is white gold and pure diamonds. I can't find Heart Lock anywhere and I really want to know more about it. Can you help me?
AnswerHi Shawnetta,
It could be that the setting might have formerly housed an Opal in 14k gold , it might have been matching set of jewelry with a locket in the shape of a heart . Apart from that there are not many clues . We often get asked about codes and makers marks , and around the turn of the century there were a lot of markings inside rings that we cant find info about.. Youve done well so far finding out info . I hope that helps a little . Regards Rod
