Question Both wedding rings
QUESTION: My fiance and I bought our wedding rings out in the USA, where we got engaged last August.
We bought slightly larger sizes out there as they were the only ones available in our selected rings. The master jeweller at the store in Palm Springs said they would be easy to resize when we got home. We have found the opposite!
We both have 14ct white gold bands with diamonds running through the centre on the front. Mine has been resized to fit. Neil's has also been taken down 2 sizes, to his size, but as it is a court ring, is still too big. The jeweller we took it to has added two 'ball bearings' of metal on the inside, to keep the ring on. This is apparently a technique used for arthritis sufferers. However, we think the ring is just still that bit too big and I'm a bit sad that his wedding ring doesn't fit perfectly and we risk losing it!
Apparently it can't be taken down any more sizes as our jeweller felt the baguette diamonds would put too much pressure on each other and smash. We are desperate to get this sorted properly and wondered if you have any advice for us or could do anything to help?
Attached is a photograph of the ring (not the best, but just to give you an idea).
ANSWER: Congratulations to you and Neil!!
It seems Neils ring size is about a 9 and the ring was probably a 10 or 10 1/2 when you bought them. The baguettes ( I cant tell from the picture just by you telling me he has baguettes) can be compromised since it appears to be channel set, this creates a problem. The baguettes, to be properly sized without the little balls in the shank would have to be reset after the ring is sized to the proper size. This can be done although most jewelers would not tackle this job since they did not sell you the ring so why take responsibility. If you still cant have it done, make sure you give me the proper finger size and send the ring to me...depending on how many baguettes need to be tightened or reset would impact the cost. Let me know.

QUESTION: Hi Les
Did you get my response that the 'court' shape is USA comfort fit? My camera isn't picking up te ring detail close up (it's not good enough!) Do you need me to borrow a different camera to get the picture to proceed? We don't want to lose you!

do not put "JEWELRY" anywhere on the outside of the box....
Please place your email address with the ring and phone numbers, although I will probably only email you when I receive them, please make sure you have the correct finger size, and if you can send me a picture of Neils hand outstretched so I can see his knuckle and finger, dont worry about sizing conversions we have them all.
Lets give it a try.....We have plenty of time from now until August.
