Removing Dark Stains from Gold Rings: Causes & Solutions

I have a gold ring that leaves very dark brown stains on my finger. How can i remedy to that ? I've heard that leaving the ring in some coke drink could do the trick.Is it true ?

Hello,

That would suggest that the ring is not gold or at least more base metal than gold.  The best cure would be to quite wearing the ring.  Coke may aid due to the carbonic acid.  If you start wearing the ring again the stain will return.
