Valuing Your Antique Edelweiss Pendant: Is It Worth Anything?

Question
I was going through photo's that i kept from my mother and grandmother when i found a pendant that use to belong to my grandmother, it has a heart shape and has an authentic Edelweiss encased. The frame seems to be either of copper or brass (not sure). I am just curious to know if this worth anything since one of my coworker would like to buy it from me, but i have no idea how much i should ask for. Any idea? I can provide a picture if you need it along with lots of antique pictures of my family from Germany.

Answer
Hello Heidi and thank you for your inquiry. If you want to sell your necklace you might want to check the below site for some idea on price, but since your piece is vintage, that might work for or against you depending on what your coworker is looking for in jewelry. Price would be determined also by any metal used i.e. sterling or gold ? and the condition of the pendant including the size.  Just copy and paste the below url into your browser address field and hit enter.

You might also check one of the online auctions for items similar to yours for the current market price. Try ebay.com and search for Edelweis jewelry.

Hope this helps and good luck !
