Question
Cameo pendant
My Grandmother gave me a coral cameo with a gold around the cameo picture, pendant. On the back it has the marking Mi, it looks like that anyway. I can't really make out the marking that well. Can you tell me anything about the history or the marker of the pendant? Like how can I tell what your it was made in, ect.
AnswerMi is not a regular marking used in jewelry items. It may represent the craftsman's personal signature or a custom engraving at the time of making. It might also just be to represent that the pendant was crafted in Michigan.
As it is not a standard mark, it is very difficult to identify the maker or the year of making.
I might be able to help you more if you can post a larger, more detailed picture of the pendant.
