Valuable Vintage Watches: Identification & Appraisal

Question
Hi Steve, Hope you can help me or put me in contact with someone who can.  I have had a box of jewellery since my Nan passed away in 1984 and, apart from rings and necklaces, there are three watches:  One is a 9ct yellow gold bracelet style Omega ladies watch in near mint condition, quite dainty, (mum told me Nan never wore it), in red velvet box (bottom lifts out and under it looks like snake skin), still with its booklet, dates from 1947 approx. Another watch is a rectangular style with 14 small faceted stones around face (don't know what they are but prob not diamonds) on face says BENTON and SWISS MADE, case is stainless steel,on back has 5605 and 2137, can't find much info about BENTON brand watches. Third watch is 9ct, rose gold square face with high domed glass, the band reminds me of a bicycle chain. On face it has RELIDE, 15 JEWELS, NON-MAGNETIC. I only just got these watches out and had a look at them, set time and wound them and they have been keeping perfect time for two days now.  Can you tell me about the Benton watch company and age of the watch, and rough value of all three watches.

Answer
Hi Carol, I wish I could see these, they sound exquisite. I am going to ask you to take them to a reputable appraiser in your area to have them looked at and appraised for I feel they are either English or Scottish or made in a country with ties to the UK. This will be your best bet. Sorry to refer you like this but I feel the items are of high value and an appraiser of watches will best serve you.
