QuestionI purchase a few jade bangles on Ebay from dealers in China. But when I received them, they are really small. Can the jade be stretched?
AnswerJean, thank you for this question.
Unfortunately, jade cannot be stretched. Jade is a mineral material and in that regard is stone or rock in the most basic sense. Of course, jade is developed into a beautiful stone which is cut into gemstones, decorative items, festive items and yes, bangle bracelets.
A rock cannot be stretched, hammered or forced into a new form by any common methods. The material will break, chip or crumble. Often bangles from China are small overall. I suggest prior to purchase you inquire through eBay asking the seller the internal diameter of the bracelets. If you have a bangle which does fit, measure it and let them know you need that size and not smaller. If they cannot supply a larger size then perhaps pass on that sale and look elsewhere.
I do hope this helps. As I said, unfortunately the fact is the bracelets cannot be "sized" since they are a solid stone, not capable of being stretched.
Best wishes with future orders. God Bless and Peace. Thomas.
