Identifying a Vintage Stanley Ladies Cocktail Watch (1940s-50s)

Question
I have a ladies cocktail watch which I am guessing from the 1940's or 50s.  It is white gold with "diamonds" on the bracelet (leaf pattern) and the face has "diamonds" and a hinged cover.  (I am not sure if the stones are real or crystal.) The face bears the name Stanley.  It is also marked as being US made.  I can't seem to locate any information on this watchmaker.  I am not interested in selling the watch, just curious as to its provenance.  Do you know anything about this company?

Answer
Hello Marianne and thank you for your inquiry. I have not been able to locate a watchmaker in my resources with the name Stanely. You might try the library for a list of watchmakers in the United States. My resources are limited to mostly jewelry items. I could not find a listing on the internet either. If you can find a mark or logo possibly inside the back of the watch, it may give you more information. If it is gold you might also want to have it appraised. Good luck and sorry I couldn't be of more assistance.
