Understanding 'PF 925' Markings on Gold-Colored Rings: Sterling Silver or Gold Plated?

Question
I would just like to know what the markings "PF 925" on a ring mean?  The ring appears to be gold with what i believe to be cubic zirconias 22 diamond zirconias and a large blue stone in the center?  do you think the ring is junk?

Answer
Hello Diana and thank you for your inquiry. According to the marking 925, your ring is sterling silver. Possibly with a gold wash or plate. The PF could be the designer/manufacturers initials or style.  In order to ascertain the type of stones you would need to have them tested by a jeweler or gemologist. Usually sterling rings were set with semi or precious gems so I would not consider it junk.  Hope this helps !
