Decoding Gold Ring Markings: COP & SS Explained

Came across a gold-colored ring that is marked "COP" followed by a copyright symbol, then "SS". Any idea what this is?

Greetings Joe,

I have answered many similar answers in the past.

Unfortunately there are no hard and fast rules for stamps in most of the world - only really UK these days.
Thus, the stamps are often devised by the maker, company etc...

SS might mean sterling silver and the COP may refer to some sort of plating, or........well your guess is as good as mine.
I can only give you some better idea by looking at the piece in real time.
