brassy black ring with
Hello , I hope you can help me.
I have mistakenly put my gold rings/necklaces into a silver
cleaner.and they have all come out a brassy black colour
with black pitting.I have have soaked them over night in a
gold cleaner they have only slightly come up.i also soak
them in fairy liquid still no joy.I do hope you can help me
as i am at my wits end I do not know the best form of
action. Thank you in advance for your help it is most
appricated.I have included a picture for you of some of the
damaged items.I look foward to hearing from you.

If your items are indeed karat gold (10K, 14K, 18K) and not plated or gold filled, a jeweler should be able to polish with his dremel tools and bring the shine back. I can't see from the picture, the pitting, that you describe. In my experience, I've never seen a karat gold item that turned black and pitted from silver cleaner. I have, however, seen plated pieces become ruined in the chemicals. If they are plated or costume, they may not be able to be repaired.
My best suggestion is to take the items to a professional, private jeweler, and ask them to take a look at them and see if they can help you to clean them up.
