Decoding Gold Bracelet Markings: Understanding 750, MDEP, and More

Question
Hi, I have a gold bracelet with the following marks. MDEP which is inside a sort of truncated diamond, then 750 AVO which is inside a rectangle and sitting on this rectangle is a pair of scales, then lastly 358 VI which is inside a truncated diamond. I'm guessing the 750 refers to 18K but thats it, the rest is a complete mystery to me. The only other info I have is, I have had the bracelet since 1968 and it was not new when it was given to me. Hope this description makes some sort of sense. Thanks for any help you can give me.

Answer
Hello Alison and thank you for your inquiry. Your bracelets sounds lovely.  The marks, I believe, are foreign the MDEP standing for "Depose or Registered".  I have included a site below that may give you some information on a possible mark with the icons you mention.  Just click on or copy and paste it into your browser address field and hit enter:

This same site contains other marks for world countries including the United States although I could not locate any American manufacturers with these indications.  Your other option is to have it checked by a jeweler or estate jewelry appraiser.  If it is 18K it would be well worth the appraisal.  Hope this helps and enjoy your bracelet.
