QuestionI have a white gold Braided rope bracelet with markings on the clasp, it has a triangle, that has a T,in it,under the T it reads 0.750 18K, under the triangle it has MI 4434, what does all this mean?......Thank-You Maria
AnswerDear Maria, as mentioned in the instructions to the questioner, I do not try to identify manufacturer's marks. I also know most people are not in the jewelry business and may be confused as to what marks are meaningful. I will try to explain as best I can.
QUALITY MARKS
These are the markings which tell the quality of the metal used in the jewelry. Your bracelet has 0.750 18k. These are the quality marks showing the bracelet is stamped to say it is made of 18 karat gold, the same as 750 since 18k is 75% or 0.750 pure gold in the gold mix used for the bracelet to be made.
MAKER MARKS AND OTHERS
The other marks are identification most likely for the maker and perhaps a style number. Different makers use different symbols, such as triangles, circles, etc.
Maria, I do hope this helps you understand the markings better.
God Bless and Peace. Thomas.
