Selling a 1.03ct Round Brilliant Diamond Ring - Appraisal Estimate

Question

Ring
Well all the engagement dust has finally settled and now I'm selling my ring at a pawn shop.
Weight : 1.03 ct
Cut : Round Brilliant
Color : G-H
Clarity : 12
white gold band stamped 14k , and the diamond is set in 14k white gold prongs.
Now the question I need answered is how much should i be offered for it? (not an exact pricing , just a round figure. )
I was told $800 (from a friend) and found that a bit low considering he (my ex fiance)paid over 6 thousand for it.

Answer
Hi there! Based on the info you gave me, if the ring was previously priced at $6000, I would probably just shave off around $1000 from it. The band alone is around $150, and a round cut 1.03ct stone can go roughly from $2000 to almost $7000, depending on the 4 C's. I suggest that you just sell the ring online. I believe there are sites where you can sell previously-owned engagement rings, such as http://exboyfriendjewelry.com.
