Identifying a CDL Maker Mark on an 18k Gold Diamond Brooch
QuestionI purchased an 18k gold brooch with diamonds and I am trying to find out all I can about the maker mark. The leaf brooch is stamped CDL 18k. I have researched, searched, had appraised and tried so hard to find out about the maker and can find nothing. I believe it is a vintage piece and want to sell it, but I want to find out everything I can first. Please help :) Please, if you can tell me anything about the CDL mark.
Thank you so much,
Michele
Answerhello Michele I really do not know much about these protests your best bet is to find an estate appraiser that familiar with jewelry they have several books that classify these kind of things also the CDL could be initials of the person who received it or it could be the initials of the Goldsmith that put it together... if you have a reputable Goldsmith you can find it's a good idea to show -- also for the value you should get to independent quotes..
I hope this helps regards Rolfe
