Understanding Your Diamond & White Gold Earrings & Pendant: Markings & Value

Question
I have a diamond and white gold earring and pendant set, however it is missing the original chain. All three are round brilliant cut set in 14k white gold. However they all three are also marked W1C or WIC then 14k. And the earrings only are marked 14k in two places, one with the W1C/WIC mark, the other FI 14k or F1 14k. I do not have any paper work on these, and have never had them appraised. I would be very grateful to know the markings meanings, and possible diamond value. I work for a cash for gold company so I know the value of the gold. Thank your for your time.

Answer
hi Brigitte,
Are the white gold earrings a pair? From what you have described, the markings could either be the makers mark or the color grading of the diamonds and their carat. What you describe as 'W1C' might be diamonds of a W color grading with a carat of 1. 'F1C' might be 1 carat diamonds with an F color grading. If you want to know the true worth of your diamonds however, I suggest that you go to a reputable appraiser who can inspect the diamond under a loupe and determine it's true value. I hope this helps you.
