Understanding Your 14K White Gold Ring: PAT-E & Heart Lock Markings

Hi Peter.  I have an older 14k white gold diamond wedding ring and on the
inside of the band, it is stamped 14k  PAT-E    HEART LOCK.  Can you tell me
what is PAT -E  and is Heart Lock the maker?  Thanks very much.

I have dealt with this subject many times.
Unfortunately there is no definitive answer....
14K is obviously the Karat of the metal.
PAT-E is probably the maker and if I remember correctly, Heart Lock was a trade mark at one time....it was  sort of a catch phrase.
