Inheritance Law: Can a Daughter-in-Law Claim a Share When a Beneficiary Dies?

Question
Say a son is on my will and dies and at time (my passing)when he would have received some share he then being deceased, could the daughter in law then claim his share?

Thanks,
Curtis

Answer
Dear Curtis,

Unfortunately, I am not a will expert, but my thought would be that in a parents will you would name the recipient. If that recipent died then perhaps it would go to another family member, which could be considered by the law..a daughter-in-law. You should really speak with a legal expert, such as the lawyer who drew up your will.
